Nishikata tries to get a plush of the main characters of his favorite comic series from a crane game. After he fails, Takagi tries and gets it on her first try. Nishikata tries a few more times until he feels he’s wasted too much money without getting anything. Takagi offers Nishikata her prize, but he says he couldn’t possibly take it.

高木:
いいからいいから、100(えん)だし。」
Go head and take it, since it was only 100 yen.”

Key Points

  1. Repeated いいから = “come on, it’s fine”

    • Here いいから is not a literal “because it’s good.” It is a conversational way to wave off Nishikata’s hesitation and tell him not to worry about it.

    • Repeating it as いいからいいから makes the line sound more casual, reassuring, and gently insistent.

  2. The implied meaning is “just take it”

    • Takagi does not say ()()って or もらって directly, but that action is understood from the situation.

    • In context, いいからいいから means something like “Really, it’s fine, go ahead and take it.”

  3. 100円だし gives her reason

    • だし adds an explanatory “since” nuance here: “I mean, it was only 100 yen.”

    • She is giving a reason why he should stop resisting and accept the prize.

  4. Tone: casual and lightly pushy, not harsh

    • Unlike a sharp use of いいから in an argument, this one is soft and friendly.
