Covered in with 〜だらけ
Grammar: Condition
A noun followed by だらけ means “covered in” or “full of” that thing. The thing is usually undesirable and scattered throughout the area or object.
Add の and the covered item when it needs to be stated: 泥だらけの靴 (mud-covered shoes).
Usage Notes
だらけ sounds negative or critical. Because it suggests an undesirable abundance, it is not a neutral way to say something is full of good things. Upon hearing Usami say she’s stopping by the school library, Uchimaki says he wants to go with, and Colette tags along. Realizing Urushi is hiding in a box to try and scare him, Ayumu sits with his back to the box. Kotoha, Yui, and Sacchan enter another exhibit room in the museum.Examples
