Measures and degrees with 度

The kanji has the core meanings of degree, measure, and occurrence. It is used for measurable extent, levels and angles, temperature, social bearing, institutional frameworks, and the counting of times something happens.

Measurement

露出度 (Degree of exposure)

露出度(ろしゅつど) means degree of exposure. It measures how much of the body or a surface is exposed or revealed.

It combines 露出 (exposure) with 度 (degree) to show the measured extent of exposure.

Time

今度 (This time)

今度(こんど) means this time, next time, or on this occasion, depending on context. It refers to a particular occurrence or turn in time rather than an abstract measure.

It combines (now) with 度 (occurrence) to show the present or upcoming occasion.

一度 (Once)

一度(いちど) means once or one time. It counts a single occurrence or a single try.

It combines 一 (one) with 度 (occurrence) to show one occurrence.

二度 (Twice)

二度(にど) means twice or two times.

It combines 二 (two) with 度 (occurrence) to show two occurrences.
